Keep Moving Forward, Inc. provides a variety of options to meet the needs of your child.

We provide Physical Therapy to children in order to improve their balance, coordination and gross motor skills such as rolling, crawling, sitting, standing, walking, running and jumping.

 Our fully licensed and experienced physical therapists work with the child and the family to assess the current functioning level and create an individualized plan to help your child achieve the best results. Families are provided with a custom made, individualized Home Exercise Program that your child can practice daily at home with their caregivers to achieve optimal progress.

Pediatric Physical Therapy is typically recommended for individuals who demonstrate a delay in achieving motor milestones, have been injured or have movement impairments from an illness, disease, or disability.

Doctors may recommend PT for individuals with:

  • Neurological disorders (Stroke, Muscular Dystrophy, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy)
  •  Prematurity
  •  Torticollis and other orthopedic conditions
  • Genetic disorders
  • Developmental delays
  • Hypertonia (low tone)
  • Development coordination disorder/motor planning difficulties
  •  Autism Spectrum Disorder

EARLY INTERVENTION

Keep Moving Forward Inc. is a NYS Approved Provider of Early Intervention Services under agreement with the New York State Department of Health. The Early Intervention Program (EIP) provides services to infants and toddlers under three years of age who may not be making progress at the same rate as their peers because of a developmental delay or disability. All Early Intervention evaluations and services are provided at no cost to families but health insurance may be accessed.

 

Keep Moving Forward Inc. provides facility-based physical therapy for Nassau County. We utilize a state-of-the-art sensory gym and offer strategies to families that can be embedded within the home, community and the family’s daily routine. Our professional staff assists in creating the child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), with the goal of identifying the child’s strengths and needs.

Physical therapists work individually with children to enhance their gross motor development through a variety of therapeutic interventions.  Goals of Physical Therapy include the improvement of:

 

  • Postural stability and control
  • Balance and coordination
  • Range of motion and flexibility
  • Muscle strength and endurance
  • Functional mobility

Committee for preschool special education (CPSE)

Keep Moving Forward Inc. provides preschool services for physical therapy to children 3-5 years of age. We provide therapeutic and specialized individual therapy to children who have been identified with a disability that affects their learning. We provide facility-based preschool related services for school districts throughout Nassau. We participate in the development and implementation of a child’s Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).

Physical therapists work individually with children to enhance their gross motor development through a variety of therapeutic interventions.  The therapeutic program includes maximizing function in regards to postural stability, balance and gross motor skills.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Here at Keep Moving Forward Inc. we believe the impossible, becomes possible. With a one-hour program, our hope is to maximize ones’ potential by improving strength, flexibility, endurance and overall fitness.  Our trainers bring personalized programs and a motivating spirit to each session so that clients can participate in new exercises and routines to go further and faster! Having a partner that encourages a client to their greatest potential through creative routines with input from clients in regards to their goals and requirements. A personalized training program can allow one not only more strength, coordination and stamina but also improve energy and self-esteem as well.

WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTION

All children need to know what to do when they find themselves in water. Our program is made to address any discomfort with the water and build confidence.

Benefits of Water Instruction

– Increased muscle strength and endurance

– Development of gross motor skills

– Increased confidence and discipline

Swimming can provide a multitude of benefits allowing for muscle strengthening that may not occur on land, reduce pressure on bones and joints allowing for more movement, affects the muscle tone allowing for relaxation, improved coordination and increased endurance.

Here at Keep Moving Forward Inc. we provide individualized structured program to build trust and confidence taught by an aquatic specialist for 60-minute visits.  Our indoor therapeutic pool is complete with proper lift and ramp to allow children and teens with any ability a safe way to complete.
