Keep Moving Forward, Inc. is the FIRST intensive physical therapy clinic in Long Island!

We utilize an individualized intensive strengthening program for children and adults with neurological and developmental delays through the use of the TheraSuitTM, Universal Exercise Unit and many more techniques.

“Around here, we don’t look backwards for very long. We KEEP MOVING FORWARD, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we are confident and this confidence keeps leading us to work determined to achieve and sustain success…”

Our program encompasses a variety of tools and techniques, including but not limited to:

The TheraSuit is a soft, proprioceptive, dynamic, orthosis, consisting of a cap, vest, shorts, knee pads, and shoes. Each piece is connected with tension bands that are aligned in the direction of muscle fibers.

Universal Exercise Unit

The UEU is a system combined with pulleys and bungees that allow for muscle isolation by eliminating gravitation forces while facilitating coordination to improve functional movements

Weight-Assisted Gait Training

Partial body weight is supported using an overhead tracking system or support on a treadmill which creates effective gait training.

Redcord/Neurac is a treatment aimed at restoring functional movement patterns through high levels of neuromuscular stimulation (add this to the end of the sentence please)… using straps and body weight resistance

Electrical Stimulation

Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (which targets motor nerves) and TENS (which targets sensory nerves) are techniques used to elicit a muscle contraction or decrease pain by using electrical impulses.

Cuervas Medek Exercises

Provokes the appearance of absent automatic motor functions, exposing the child to the influence of gravity forces.

A rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion

Sensory Integration

Integrating the brain's sensory system with motor function using a variety of tools including swings, unstable surfaces, proprioception, and visual stimuli.

We are proud to say we have wonderful administrative staff supporting these amazing therapist and our family of patients.

What our client say about us.

Thank you Amy for giving my husband and I and our 4 and a half year old son Ronnie a renewed sense of hope. I will always remember the motivation we had after our initial consultation with Amy. She reviewed with us our son Ronnie’s short and long term potentials.

Just a small note of appreciation! Amy, Ava has been a patient of yours since 2009. The gains she has made have not been small, as you know. To think back to the goals we were working on during early intervention for 3 years before we went to you for just 3 short weeks were surpassed after that first course with you.

Our seven year old daughter Grace was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at 15 months. Naturally we were devastated but also determined to source the therapy she would require to enable her to reach her full potential. Frustrated by the lack of resources in our home country of Ireland, we had no choice but to look further afield.

We are so thankful to have found Keep Moving Forward. I don’t know where Kenneth would be without them and I only wish he had found them sooner. In the future, when Kenneth is able to independently walk, talk, and do everything all of the “experts” deemed impossible – he’s pretty much more than half way there so it won’t be too far down the road, but once he is able to do so he’ll be Keep Moving Forward’s proudest success story and biggest advocate.

We look forward to hearing from you!
