Medical Biller/ Front Desk Associate

Job Description
Keep Moving Inc. is a state-of-the-art physical therapy clinic treating patients who are pediatric and adults with neurological conditions. Conditions treated include cerebral palsy, autism, genetic disorders, developmental delays, traumatic brain injuries, and stroke to name a few. We are looking for a medical biller/receptionist to lead front office operations. This position is primarily responsible for compiling data, computing fees and charging, and preparing invoices for billing purposes. Duties include data entry, electronic and/or paper insurance claims submissions, follow-up on claims and denials for appeals, monitoring reimbursements, generating statements, and instituting collections. This position also involves front desk administration tasks such as scheduling, collecting payments, as well as answering phones. Does involve use of computer, calculator, and adding and bookkeeping software by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Verifies accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.
  • Operates typing, adding, calculating, and billing software.
  • Prepares itemized statements, bills, or invoices; and records amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.
  • Reviews documents such as claims, invoices, denials, and all records in order to compute fees and charges due.
  • Performs bookkeeping work, including posting data and keeping other records concerning costs of services.
  • Keeps records of invoices and support documents.
  • Resolves discrepancies in accounting records.
  • Contacts clients in order to obtain or relay account information.
  • Completes patient scheduling, answering phones, and greeting clients.
  • General housekeeping/restocking of office supplies at end of every shift.
  • Creating welcome aboard packages
  • Emailing pre-registration forms
  • Follow up on patient inquiries
  • Filing, Faxing, Mailing
  • Creation and maintenance of spreadsheets of pertinent information

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software, Database software; Contract Management systems; Manufacturing software, Inventory software; Order Processing systems, Project Management software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
